i've got a rather interesting post today. for one, i learnt that though Singapore is kinda small, but there are differences b/w ppl in the East and West actualli. Heh, well, it's nt a bad thing, juz different...dunno how to describe tho. But tts interesting thing no. 1..

no. 2..i juz came back from MP attachment in Marine Parade. Was assigned to be a case writer, writing a pre-report to be sent to the MP. 2dae was the Meet the people session, where heartlanders from all walks of life, and realli, all walks of life, come down, and politely request to ease their current situation..be it financial or other issues.

i was listening to every case, and as i was doing so, it struck me hard. I realised how fortunate i am actualli. I realli realli realli appreciate the effort my dad put in to support the family and the financial state i am in. At least, my family could still afford to send me to school, haf proper meals, pay the bills, haf a com, internet access, tv, radio and stuff. Tho, Singapore does haf a higher std of living, sometimes it kills.

it kinda aches my heart listening case by case. sometimes, i juz wish i could help. Somehow. Typing their case down isn't much of a help anywayz. Wish i could do more. i mean seriously. not for recognition, but for the ppl themselves.

n i realised the importance of communication and i realised the need to be bilingual and perhaps even bicultural. i felt shitty. there were a couple of cases brought up by malay-speaking individual. for goodness sake, im malay-speaking and tell u truthfully, im as dumb as an ass. i took my own language for granted. Basically, right now, i guiltiliy admit that im ready to kinda put my mother tongue aside. but the fact is, i can't and i shouldn't. it was really difficult to communicate to the malay-speaking individuals. and i felt embarrassed. realli...felt guilty too. if only i was more fluent, mayb i could haf written a better case for them.

man, i feel so guilty for the times i splurged, juz becoz i tink i shud reward myself. there are ppl who dun even haf the leisure of splurging. realli, the MP attachment was a huge eye-opener for me. and the best part is, the MP recommendation is done almost immediately after the case is reported. cos right after they report their case, they'll confide in the MP. In my case, it was Dr. Faizal. the newly recruited MP. this MP attachment trains you to think quickly and learn to type in a way to make the case a strong one.

I hope i helped, one way or another, tho i still dun see how case writing realli helped. heh. well, i tink it's realli interesting and it sparked my innate interest to be in this line. Line of politics. question is, will i be ready in the near future? can i commit myself? am i willing to endure? i hope not to be entangled in "bad politics" tho. well, come wat may la. see wat opportunities there are, juz grab den.

hmm...finally managed to organise my tots in this post. Looking forward to next week's session. i mite hook up again to help out tho. it feels good knowing that somehow...somehow, you helped.

yeap, that's all for todae's post den...take care ppl..=D
